I can apply my knowledge of adverbial clauses and connectives to see how ideas are linked in texts.

For reading I have been learning about adverbial clauses. I have found this learning Difficult because I had know idea what an Adverbial Cause was before I started this so I had to do a lot of research to get the google classroom finished.

In this activity (Link), I had to find out what each of the sentences were by knowing if it was an Adverbial Cause or not.

The Hydraulic Cycle

This is my information report About the Water Cycle/ Hydraulic Water ...

The Water Cycle is a process where the water in the air and ground gets recycled over and over again so there is never new water, It also can go through different stages which is common to what we will be talking about today.

Evaporation is when the heat from the sun shines on the water which happens to make the water rise from the lakes and rivers. As the water is rising up to the sky it merges with all the dust in the air and that's how clouds are formed. Also on hot days in summer usually, there is a good chance that a few days after it will rain really hard because once the clouds fill up with all the water vapor that goes into the clouds, the clouds get too heavy and then all the water will drop. Fun Fact: When the water vapor turns into gas it is called “Humidity” which is just moist air. After the water turns into gas the Condensation/Precipitation starts to make it rain.

Condensation/Precipitation is when the gas that is in the clouds turn back into water inside the clouds and then it starts to rain and make everything foggy and wet so it makes small droplets on all the windows when it gets a little sunny. Fun Fact: Even though most of the time you can't see it, there is always water in the air and they are little droplets called water particles. Also Condensation is the stuff that makes the air moist and when all the condensation is out of the air it is time for runoff and groundwater when the water shall fall.

Runoff/Groundwater is when the water either runs on top of the land and falls into the ocean or a lake and groundwater is when the water is sinking into to ground and then slowly goes into the ocean or lake. With Runoff the water can sink into the ground and once the ground and dirt gets too wet and moist and the dirt is filled up will water the water starts running on top on the land.

To wrap it up, I hope that you now know a few facts about the water/hydraulic cycle, (lets recap our story shall we). So there is no start or finish to the water cycle as far as we know at the moment, there are five steps of the water cycle [ Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation, Runoff and Groundwater]. And that's practically all you need to know about the water cycle.

I can recognise and understand a variety of grammatical constructions and some rhetorical patterns

In this unit I have been learning about:

  • The parts of speech.
  • The types of nouns.
  • The types of sentences.

In this unit, I found challenging... the finding out what the words mean because you have to make it really specific or the person who is reading it still won't really have any idea of what each of the words mean.

Something new I learnt was... That a pro noun means when in writing you say stuff like I,me,he,myself, you, they e.t.c.

Excellence Blog Post #5 Drum Lessons - Can Do

This week I found out that the song that I was playing on the Drums was "In The Summertime" By Thirsty Merc. The reason I got that song is because it is at the difficult level that i'm at, at the moment. I also learn't about accents a little more ( Accents are when you use the flat wood on the drum stick to strike the simble and then straight after that you hit it again but with the very top on the drum stick quite lightly to add affect).

The learner quality that I showed at my drum lesson was Active thinking because even though in some areas I couldn't really do it the what he showed me but then i just changed it to a two handed simble so I could get the beat right.

How I showed leadership in drum lessons is when I was put with a person that i just started and even though he was learning a little slower I didn't get frustrated with him, I just sat there and tried to help him get it right.

Excellence Blog Post #4 Peer Mediation - Can Do

This week for Peer Mediation I had to change days to Monday and we didn't get any really bad problems, we just got a few "he stole this, she stole that' situations here and there.

The Learner quality that I showed this week was Community because when we got all the little problems we didn't act like they weren't a big deal, we treated it like any other problem.

I showed Leadership on my duty by knowing the limits of what they say to each other E.G they would be insulting each other and I would know when to say "that's a bit too far".

Excellence Blog Post #1 Technology - Must Do

This week at tech I was in cooking and changing over the following week. We made Anzac Cookies and they weren't very difficult to make because all you had to do was mix/whisk all of the ingredients together in a bowl, mold them into the shape and size that you wanted and then cook them in the oven for 10-15 minutes. they turned out well but the only problem was that they went hard in 10 minutes.

The learner quality that I showed at tech was Respect because even though I already new how to make cookies I still respected how the teacher made them.

I showed leadership at tech by helping out my group when something went wrong and being collaborative.

Excellence Blog Post #3 Peer Mediation - Can Do

This week for Peer Mediation I had to chance days for my duty because I had a different activate that I had to do on that date and time so I have changed to Monday at Morning Tea. On my duty we got one problem that was with these small kids in the year 1,2 and 3 area about someone wasn't hanging out with them and they wanted us to make them hang out with them, yet we didn't do to we just told her to go and play with someone else if they didn't want to play with them.

The learner quality that I showed this week was active thinking because I didn't make this kid hang out with them because she wanted her to I just told her to go find someone else to play with instead.

I showed leadership on my duty by knowing what to do when someone is wanted something that isn't necessary.

Excellence Blog Post #2 Peer Mediation - Can Do

For Peer Mediation this week we got one problem that was about this little girl getting insulted by a year 6 and we sorted it out in about 10 mins because the boy said sorry and the little girl excepted it which was good.

The learner quality that I showed this week was respect because I helped the little girl when she was crying and I wasn't making fun of her.

I showed leadership on my duty by knowing what to do when someone is interrupting and when someone is crying and when stuff started to get out of hand I told a teacher.
