My C.A.R.E Progress

I have done a check of my CARE progress so far this year.

I am proud of my progress that I have Done this year so far because I have almost received my bronze and am already working towards my silver.

How far away are you from reaching your SILVER?
I just received my bronze and i am quite far away from my silver but I predict that I will get it by the end of this year.

The area of CARE that I need to try harder in is Community because I feel like I need to do better at helping out and volunteering for things.

To achieve my SILVER award quicker I need to make sure that I volunteer for events and put my hand up for questions.

The one thing that I can do to improve my progress in CARE is record my ticks straight away so I don't forget to log them.

We will review CARE progress again at the end of the term.

WALT: I can recognize and understand the features and structures of a wide variety of text types and forms.

  1. Each text type has different structures and features because a short story and a novel can't have the same structures and features or it would be boring to read.

  1. Two text types that I have studied are Poems and  Short Stories.

  • Attach/ link your follow up tasks here as evidence of your learning.

Excellence Blog Post #1 Peer Mediation - Can Do

From Peer Mediation this week I had to change because I was going to the new-ish Library (Te Hapua). But on my duty this week we didn't get any real problems there was just a few misunderstandings about equipment and little problems like that.

The learner quality that I showed on my duty this week was active thinking because even though we got a lot of little problems I was acting like it was a big deal for the smaller kids benefits.

I showed leadership when I was on my duty by knowing what to do when someone started crying or when things started to get over the top a little bit

Music

I can describe the characteristics of music from songs of a different time and place

Over the past 7 weeks I have been learning to describe the characteristics of music from songs of a different time and place

I can describe these characteristics in a piece of music…
Melody - It is the catchy bit of the song (the tune)
Harmony - The effects that the song have (the happy bits and the sad bits)
Rhythm - A pattern/similarities in the song
Timbre - An intense part of the song
Form - How the song is set out (the characteristics of the song)

Here is an example of my learning

Merit Blog Post #10 Peer Mediation - Can Do

This week at Peer Mediaton Alissa, Austin and I walked around the senior playground, Junior playground and around th field a couple times. We go no problems what so even except for just one littl probl m when these little year 2s weren't sharing a ball and then we just told them to go to the PALS game that was going on right behind them, then it was all sorted out.

The learner quality that I showed at Peer Mediation was Community because I Ben though I sorted out the problem with no arguments, I also helped out the PALS that were on duty at that time by giving them more people.

Merit Blog Post #9 Drum Lessons - Can Do

This week at drum lessons I have been working on basic beats and how to do fills (Fills are the beats between each of the basic beats, you will often hear them at the start of the song, mat th end, or maybe if the beat is changing in the middle of the song in the chorus). We have also been learning how to do individual songs so the we don't always just learn the beats but really learn the songs too.

The learner quality that I showed at drums was goal focused because when I couldn't get the fills right I made shore that I new them before I went back to the classroom.
