This week I learn't the drum beat to "Heavy" by Lincoln Park. I also started to make u my own fills and beats so that i can create my own songs eventually. I also helped Savannah learn the Lincoln Park song since she was haven't trouble picking up on it. This week we don't ave band since the hall is in use but we may be performing at the open day on Wednesday.
I showed Community at my drum lesson by helping Savannah with a song that she was having trouble with.
I was Goal Focused by even after I finished the song I started to learn more Fills and beats (I didn't just sit around).
This is a blog about my learning in room 4 and I am so proud of it, I hope that you enjoy my awesome, amazing blog. So what are you waiting for come have a look...

Helping Out At The Fidget Club - Excellence Blog Post #7
Oakland's school has a Fidget spinner club that is on every single morning tea in the school hall. students from all year levels can attend this club, but they have to have a fidget spinner, Fidget cube, Bay-blades etc... Sasha and I helped out at the Fidget spinner club yesterday by just making sure that people weren't running around or yelling.
I showed Active Thinking while helping at the Fidget Spinner club by Directing people outside if they didn't have a Fidget spinner, Fidget Cube, Bay-blades etc...
I was Self Aware while helping out at the Fidget Spinner club by not shouting at kids and not "telling them off"

Music Term 2
For Music this term, three things I learnt were:
1. What music artist are from New Zealand and what ones are from overseas.
2. The different aspects of rap.
3. How to create a good rap and how to rhyme well.
Something I found challenging was... when we had to make our own rap it was difficult trying to rhyme every single word that was at the end of the sentences instead of rhyming every second sentences.

E:2, Interview someone who is in a job that interests you - Excellence Blog Post #6
I interviewed my dad (Mike), he is a Landscape Architect. I asked him about how long it took him to get to where he is now and how many years in university he had to study. He said that it took almost his entire life to get to where he is now and he had to be in university for 4 years to become a senior Landscape Architect. While he was building up enough money to create his own business he worked at Lincoln University and at Ready Lawn. He said that he likes his job because its always exciting and he gets to work with a whole bunch of people when he designs with a group.
Drums And Band - Excellence Blog Post #5
This week at drums i started and finished learning the song "Lego House" by Ed Sheeran. this song is probably one of the hardest that I learn't because it has a drag (the means that you have to hit the strum slowly and drag the drum stick across it to make a continuous song). At band I just kept practicing the song we are learning but i'm not sure what its called. Next week at band we may be learning the song "Budapest"
I showed Active Thinking at drums and band because I picked up on the new songs and beats quickly and efficiently.
I was Goal Focused by not giving up on "Lego House" when it started to get a little more difficult.

The 2nd Bake Sale For The Year 8 Wellington Trip - Excellence Blog Post #4
Earlier this week the house captains participated in the bake sale fundraiser for the year 8 Wellington trip in term 4. We had to gather up all of the food and spread it out onto different tables around the school and for morning tea we sold most of the food for $1 or $2 to the kids who brought money for it. There was some food left so we sold all of it to the parents to next day for 50c each.
I showed Respect while helping with the bake sale by helping the kids decide what they wanted if they couldn't decide.
I was Trustworthy because the people who were with me at my stand new that I was giving the kids the food they wanted and putting the money into the correct bucket.
