Treaty Of Waitangi

These are a few things that I found interesting...

  • There are only 2 real copies of the treaty.
  • The treaty has 3 main parts named "articles".
  • The treaty was written in English then translated to Maori.
What I would like to find out...
  • How many fights and battles that they had during their "disagreement".

NZ Parliment

This term we have been learning about Parliament. We have looked at the difference between government and parliament, NZ parliament, who is in government, how our government works and we compared democracy to dictatorship.

Three things that I learned in NZ parliament are:

  • That John Key sits in the Fourth seat in the first row in the left side of the chamber.
  • Ruth Dyson is a representative of the Labour party.
  • Gerry Brownlee is the leader of the house.

Here is the link to my compare and contrast map explaining the difference between democracy and dictatorship.

Excellence Blog Post #18 Drum Lessons - Can Do

This week at my Drum Lessons my teacher and I discussed about the new song but we couldn't listen to it yet since we both didn't have our devices on us, do next week we r going to listen to the song and she if it is good enough for me to work towards.

The leadership quality that I showed at my Drum lessons was Active Thinking by asking about a song by myself and not waiting to be told.

I showed leadership at my Drum lesson by helping out my teachers by not making him pick the song.

Excellence Blog Post #17 Peer Mediation - Can Do

This week on my Peer Mediation duty we had quite a large problem involving  three year 3's that have been in a fight for almost the whole year and this is what the fight was about... there were two children against one child that has wanted to be friends with them for ages and the other two didn't like her so they kept and kept telling her that they didn't like her but she kept "annoying" them.

The leadership quality that I showed on my Peer Mediation duty was respect because I was being patient with the children even though one kept yelling for some reason.

I showed leadership on my duty by when the child started yelling all we did was tell her that it wasn't her turn instead if yelling back.
